| How to create Snapshots and link to bug trackers |
| Follow the steps below to create snapshots and link them to defect / bug trackers. |

| (1) Download and install XpoLog |
Download XpoLog from the download section of this site and follow the installation wizard to install. Open a browser to the machine you installed XpoLog on, connect on port 30303 (for example: http://localhost:30303/). [top] |

| (2) Add the logs that you would like to analyze to XpoLog |
Open a browser to the machine you installed XpoLog on, connect on port 30303 (for example: http://localhost:30303/) and you will see XpoLog's home page.
There are several option to add logs to XpoLog: Add a complete Testing Environment for analysis, add a single log by clicking 'Add and View Log' under More Actions, or add a directory of logs by clicking 'Add Logs Directory' under More Actions and follow the simple wizards to add the logs. [top] |

| (3) Filter the log records that you would like to mark and snapshot |
| All the logs that are added to XpoLog are available under the Folders and Logs panel on the left.
Clicking on a log will present it in the viewer - browse through the log and use the find/filter functions to isolate log messages that are relevant to your investigation.

| (4) Right Click on the log message and select snapshot |
| Any log message, in any log, that is presented in XpoLog's viewer can be saved as part of a snapshot.
Simply right click on each log message and add it to a snapshot. Use the CTRL key to select multiple events and them together to a snapshot.
Snapshots may contain unlimited number of message from unlimited number of logs - all presented together and available. [top] |

| (5) Finish recording relevant log messages and create context link to the snapshot or copy it's content |
| The Snapshots that are saved in XpoLog are available under the Snapshots panel on the left.
XpoLog provides several ways to export/link a Snapshot's information, simply right click on a Snapshot and select the method that fits your needs: Export as an archive, Copy to clipboard all the events or Copy Snapshot link to create a link to the Snapshot. [top] |

| (6) Copy the link or Snapshot data and paste it in the bug/defect tracker |
| Simply paste the link or the copied data to any external system you are using.
Clicking on the link will open XpoLog's viewer presenting the Snapshot's log messages. [top] |

| (7) Manage existing Snapshots or view Problems Dashboard |
Click on the Testings Environments icon in XpoLog home page to see the Testing Environments page.
Select Snapshots to manage existing Snapshots, or Problems Dashboard to see the Dashboard analysis. [top] |
